Cookie Recipe (My Favorite)

Baking cookies is something you can enjoy in every season, but especially on colder fall or winter days it is a very nice activity. For the recipe, you will need approximately 15min for the preparation and another 15min for the cookies to be in the oven. You can put on your favorite music and invite some family or friends to join you, and I guarantee you it will be a lot of fun. A bonus is also that you have freshly homemade, delicious cookies to eat afterwards. I would recommend a glass of milk with it.

Now I am going share my favorite cookie recipe with you! It is really easy to make. You can even add some additional ingredients to your taste. The most important part is, of course, chocolate, since we are going to make chocolate chip cookies.

What you will need:
For kitchen supplies, you will need a big bowl to mix the ingredients in, a spoon or something similar to stir resp. knead the dough, something to melt butter, a cutting board and a knife, as well as a backing plate either with parchment paper on it or well greased.

These are the ingredients for approximately 30 cookies, which measure around 7cm in width. So enough for your family or for yourself if you are really starving cookies right now. You can also store them for up to 4 to 8 weeks if you do it properly. For that, you should place them in a dark and cool place in an airtight container, preferably a cookie tin.
Either way, here are the ingredients:

150g brown sugar
150g sugar
8g vanilla sugar
1 pinch of salt
2 eggs
250g butter
400g flour
16g baking soda
400g dark chocolate

Maybe you will need some milk too, just to adjust the consistency of your dough. The size of eggs can vary a little bit, therefore you may have too little liquid. But don’t worry about that now. I will explain it to you when we get there!

If you like, you can also add nuts and substitute the dark chocolate with whichever one you prefer. Moreover, the vanilla sugar isn’t necessary, so if you don’t have it at home, just replace it with regular sugar.

How to make the cookies:

The first thing you are going do is melt the butter. I like to do it on the stove, but you can also do it in the microwave. For that you just have to be careful that you do it in short intervals with low heat, so that the butter doesn’t explode. Trust me, you don’t want to clean up that mess!

Then you are going to have to chop the chocolate into smaller or bigger pieces, just the way you like it.

With these preparations being done, you can start mixing the dough. For that, add sugar, brown sugar, salt, vanilla sugar, and eggs to the melted butter. Mix it all well together.

Next, mix flour and baking soda and slowly stir it in. After all the ingredients have formed a dough, you can now adjust the consistency. If it is too liquidy and sticky, add flour. If it is too dry and hard, add some milk. After that, add the prepared chocolate and nuts if you choose to use some. You can see how the dough is supposed to look in this photo:

Now it is time to form the cookies. For that, you can use either your hands or two spoons. Both work fine. Just form small balls and place them on your prepared baking sheet. Remember that they are going to rise in the oven, so keep a little space in between the cookies.
They will need about 15min in the oven at 180°C. They are done when the bottoms and rims of the cookies are starting to get golden or brown.

I hope your cookies will turn out delicious and I wish you a lot of fun making them! Don’t forget to share the cookies with your loved ones. Καλή όρεξη!
