Zombie ball is a popular German game. It is a lot of fun and the rules are quite easy to learn. You can play it during the breaks at school, in your free time or during summer activities. All you need is a minimum of ten players and between one and three softballs. The field on which you play should be big enough to run.
Every player tries to throw the ball at the other players to hit them. If you carry the ball in your hands you are only allowed to do three steps before you must throw the ball. If you got hit by a ball you have to wait outside of the field until the person that threw the ball on you gets hit and goes outside. You are like a zombie that becomes alive again. A ball that hits the head does not count. If you catch a ball a person threw you remain in the game and you can go on and try to hit anybody else.
In the beginning you should only play with one ball. If you want the game to be more challenging afterwards you can ad the other balls one by one.
There is another version of zombie ball where people who got hit do not go outside the field but sit down on the floor exactly where they are at that moment. Now there are two possible ways to return to game. You can either try to catch a ball while sitting, throw it and hit other players with it or you wait until the person who hit you has to sit down as well.
