Why do we feel better after sports?

Have you ever wondered why do we feel better after sports? Well here I have the answer. This is caused by the production of endorphins, this particular substance is produced by our brain and is called the substance of the “pleasure” because (like we can imagine) it makes us feel much less fatigue after an intense period of sport. Clearly the production of this hormone has a short duration, in fact the effect can last maximum 8 or 9 minutes in our body. To be able to produce this hormone we have to put our body in some specific situations, in fact only after a quite long and hard training we can feel this awesome sensation, clearly it depends on the sport that we practice and how seriously we take the training. Endorphins are not the only substances that are produced by our body, in particular I would like to talk about the Serotonin that is quite similar to the hormone just described but lets say that are part of the same “family”.
Adrenaline is one of the last “natural drugs” that cause pleasure in our body. Most of the times this hormone is not a direct cause of the training and the fatigue, but is the result of the idea and the expectations that we have over the results, here is an example: have ever felt excited because you are already imaginating the results of the training? Well this effect produces lot of adrenaline.
Clearly this is not the only case, the adrenaline in general is produced when the brain is over stimulated, anxious or in danger. So, most of the times, this hormone is produced also before important competitions.
Now we spoke about all the substances that our body produces, but there are also other advantages, for example we feel better after sports because when we do an important physical effort our body sweats. I don’t know if you ever asked yourself what is the utility of the sweat, now I will tell you, first of all it is used by our body to release heat, but there are also other important functions, with the heat our body expels also toxins, that are chemicals substances produced by bacteria and viruses.
Now I’d like to dedicate the last part of the article talking about the other side of the coin, in fact like everything also sport has his “dark side” if we can call it like this, especially if not practiced in the right way. First of all is better to avoid a too extreme training (above all if you do not know your body’s limits) because the results of this will be only injuries, so remember that is important to understand when to stop the training and work on your limits slowly.
Second thing practicing too much sport can cause a real addiction (and I’m not exaggerating) this because our body obtain pleasure only on sport so we can get an addiction. With this I’m not trying to scare you but I’m only saying to do sport with consciousness.
